Legislation and promotion of rights
In order to create change in Israeli society, and to assist as much as possible the families of civil bereaved families, the association also works in the areas of legislation, bureaucracy and the promotion of rights, in relation to public bodies and government agencies.
The association works and promotes legislation for the full recognition of families who have experienced loss and bereavement.
The Association's Achievements
♥ Bereavement grant for families who have lost a child (up to age 18) and were receiving a disability allowance
♥ Vocational rehabilitation for parents who lost their workplace during their child’s illness and bereavement (child up to age 18) and were receiving a disability allowance
♥ The “Ambulance Law” granting exemption from ambulance fees when a patient passes away in an ambulance or in the emergency room
♥ Extension of retirement age for a bereaved parent, allowing them to remain in their workplace for up to four additional years beyond the official retirement age
♥ A paid day off at the employer’s expense on the family’s personal memorial day (currently in legislative process)
♥ Eased service conditions (TASH 3) for soldiers whose family member passed away under circumstances of civilian bereavement
♥ Soldiers and national service members who passed away during the discharge process — their heirs are entitled to receive the discharge grant
